The Owo Clan General Assembly made up of Owo and Mbulu Owo Autonomous Communities have on 23rd of June endorsed Governor His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for second term and equally passed a vote of confidence on the member representing Nkanu East at the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon Paul Nnajiofor.
This was contained in a communique issued after the meeting and read by the President General of Mbulu Owo Autonomous Community, Mr. Job Eze.
In their resolutions, they commended the government of Enugu State ably led by the people’s Governor, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the peace and sustainable urban and rural development which in the past three 3years have seen an unprecedented transformation of communities in Enugu State including Owo Clan.
They however expressed their total support for the Re-election bid of Governor Ugwuanyi come 2019.
“Without any apology, we wish to state without fear or favor that the entire Owo Clan General Assembly hereby expresses our total support to the Re-election bid of our amiable and performing Governor come 2019, as we are ready to prove this with our 100% votes to our Governor and the PDP as a party.
” We also wish to state our total support, love and confidence on our political leader and illustrious son Hon. Chief Paul Nnajiofor, member representing Nkanu East constituency at the Enugu State House of Assembly for wonderful and effective representation as a Legislator and his modest effort, support and loyalty to the Governor, government of Enugu State and PDP as a political party”, the statement read.
They maintained that Owo Clan is one and has no communal, political or leadership crisis.
They however, expressed their gratitude to Hon Nnajiofor for his pragmatic disposition to peace, law and order, community development and extension of democracy dividends to Owo Clan and Nkanu East in general.
The assembly condemned the recent campaign of columny and character assassination against their sons describing it as ‘spurious’ and ‘outright blackmail’.
Speaking to our correspondence, HRH, Igwe Okeke Arum, Ononenyi 1 of Mbulu Owo Autonomous Community maintained that Owo Clan is in total support of their son Hon Nnajiofor, the government of Governor Ugwuanyi and his re-election come 2019.
“There is no need changing the winning team, the 7 polling booths in Owo Clan is for the Governor”, the Igwe said.
He therefore advised his people and the entire state to go and get their permanent voters cards, PVC.
Speaking to our correspondence, Hon Nnajiofor expressed his happiness that his people declared their support for the Governor and his developmental projects.
“I am happy that our people are giving their one hundred percent support for the Governor and they are indeed well pleased with the programmes of Governor Ugwuanyi.
“I’m indeed happy with the development. I want to thank them for the endorsement and I promise that if we go back we will do better” Hon Nnajiofor said.
In attendance at the meeting were, the council of Elders of Owo and Mbulu Owo Autonomous Communities, Traditional Ruler of Mbulu Owo, Cabinet members, Leaders of Thought, President Generals and members of Owo and Mbulu Owo communities, Youth groups representatives, Women groups representatives, Faith-based Organizations’ and the Leadership of Owo and Mbulu Owo Neighborhood Watch groups.
