2019: Enugu APC campaign spokesman, Steve Oruruo defect to PDP

In what will be described as total support and acceptability, the Elders and Stakeholders of Nkanu Land on Thursday compelled the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2019 general election campaign spokesman in Enugu state, Barr. Steve Oruruo to return to the Peoples Democratic Party family.

Speaking at the inauguration of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s campaign office in Agbani, the headquarters of Nkanu West LGA, Barr. Oruruo disclosed that elders of Nkanuland and stakeholders of the PDP in Nkanu West LGA compelled him to return to the PDP to work for Ugwuanyi’s victory and other PDP candidates in the area.

Barr. Oruruo who thanked the people of Nkanu West for their support for Gov. Ugwuanyi, declared his “unalloyed support for Governor Ugwuanyi and other candidates of the PDP in Nkanuland”.

The event further showcased the swelling popularity of Governor Ugwuanyi ahead of 2019 governorship election in Enugu State as stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nkanu West Local Government Area reiterated their unalloyed support for his re-election bid.

The PDP faithful who came out en masse to witness the inauguration of the campaign office, expressed profound gratitude to the governor for his administration’s development strides in the area, especially the construction of Agbani-Amurri road which was neglected for over 10 decades.

Speaking at the event, the Director General of Gburugburu Campaign Organisation, Nkanu West LGA, Chief Mike Onuh, described Gov. Ugwuanyi as a true brother of the Nkanu people and assured him that “no other political party will get 25% votes in Nkanuland”.

Other dignitaries at the function include, the member representing Nkanu West/Nkanu East Federal Constituency, Hon. Chukwuemeka Ujam; the Director General, Enugu State PDP Campaign Organisation, Chief. C.O.C Egumgbe; Council Chairmen of Nkanu West and Nkanu East LGAs, Hon. Henry Okenwa and Hon. Ikechukwu Ubagu; the party’s House of Respresentatives candidate in the area, Chief Nnoli Nnaji.

Others are the former National Auditor of the party, Barr. Ray Nnaji; former Minister of Information, Hon. Frank Nweke jnr; Secretary of the PDP State Campaign Organisation, Chief Ikeje Asogwa; Director of Communications of the State Campaign Organisation, Hon. Nana Ogbodo; the DG of the Campaign Organisation in Enugu East Senatorial District, Hon. Dons Udeh and a host of others.
