Delta, Sept. 10, 2024 (NAN) The Pioneer Director International Forum for Women in Energy, Oil and Gas, Delta State Chapter, Ogochukwu Okepolo-FSM, has lauded Chief Dr. Eya Ikpuri on her inauguration as Delta State Coordinator for the Southern Women Empowerment Forum (SWEF).
In a congratulatory message released on Saturday in Warri, she characterized her appointment as a testament to her proven track record, patriotic spirit, and unwavering commitment to initiatives advancing women’s empowerment, gender equality, and social transformation.
She decried the increased vulnerability to violence and exploitation faced by women including stereotypes and biases, limited access to resources and opportunities, poor health outcomes, and reduced economic growth and development.
Affirming that Eya’s leadership of the Southern Women Empowerment Forum in Delta State will precipitate transformative change, leading to augmented economic growth and development, strengthened social cohesion and stability, and alleviated poverty and inequality.
Okekpolo further commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s dedication to empowerment, urging him to continuously improve policies and laws protecting gender equality.(NAN)
