Abuja, Jan. 21, 2025 (NAN) Renowned sports administrator and retired FIFA referee, Dr. Alex Mana has been appointed to head the panel that would receive and treat petitions at the ongoing Gombe State Principals Cup Football Competition for Secondary Schools and the state’s Athletic Championship.
A total of 31 secondary schools – 15 private and 16 secondary schools are slugging it out for honours in the two competitions, being bankrolled by Green White Green Sports Center Limited and Gombe State Athletics Association.
While announcing the constitution of the jury, Chairman of the games’ MOC, Hon. Ahmed Shuaibu-Gara Gombe charged the participating schools to abide by the rules governing the games.
He warned that any school found culpable of violating the rules would be penalized.
“The Principals Cup is a form of developmental football programme in the state and we are looking forward to the exciting matches among the participants.
“We have set up a jury committee where complains and protests would be treated without fear or favour during the game and I urge the participating schools to be disciplined and abide by the rules and regulations,” Gombe said.
The seven member committee, also has Umar Kenya as its secretary.(NAN)
