Nwobodo said this on Tuesday in Enugu in a chat with Journalists.
According to him, the call follows reported incidents of defacing and destruction of billboards and banners belonging to the opposition party and their candidates in the state.
“Political intolerance brewing up in Enugu State. I have also heard that the flex banner signboard of Accord Party in Nara Ward II, Enugu East Local Government Area was pulled down by some unknown gun trotting men.
“These acts are masterminded by gunmen working for certain Political interests.
“Although they may be garbed as unknown but they are not strangers but our own brothers. It is a serious act of cowardice.
“These acts are condemnable. As politicians, we must avoid violence at all cost an imbibe the spirit of political tolerence, ” he said.
The Governorship candidate said that democracy needed tolerence hence politicians should play by the rules.
He said that the era of thuggery in pursuit of elective positions in the state was over.
“How can you explain the fact that some people went to Enugu East at night and started shooting and destroying banners and billboards belonging to the opposition.
“That is crude political strategy. This is democracy and people should be allowed to make their choices, ” he said.
