…shares grains to farmers for farming

The Senator Representing Niger East Senatorial District, Senator Sani Mohammed Musa, in response to the hardship being faced by Nigerians, has empowered 4,100 indigent members of his constituency with a grant of Fifty Thousand Naira (N50, 000.00) each.

In addition, the Senator also shared grains to farmers in his Senatorial District for them to use for the upcoming farming season in a bid to curtail the hunger being experienced in the land.
FirstNews reports that Senator Musa carried out the programme on Saturday in Suleja Local Government Area of Niger state considering it’s centrality in Niger East Senatorial District.

The Local Governments under the Senatorial District which Senator Musa is representing at the Senate that benefited from this uncommon show of benevolence and in appreciation of the plight of his people, are, Paiko, Tafa, Gurara, Suleja, Bosso, Shiroro, Chanchaga, Munya and Rafi LGA of Niger state.

Speaking at the event, Senator Musa, said that his action to reach out to his constituents in this time of need was informed by the fact that the people freely entrusted him with their mandate to represent them at the national assembly.

“As a representative of the people, I will continue to attract empowerment programmes to compliment the transformative agenda of our farmer friendly Governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago, who is doing his best to take Niger state to an enviable hight.

“The initiative of the today’s empowerment programme aims to cushion the present hardship of Nigerians and to assist our constituents who are facing the challenge being posed by harsh economic situation in the country.

“We are actually aware of the adverse economic challenges being faced by our people and we are doing everything possible to address it. Inflation, high cost of living, unemployment are a few of these challenges being faced by Nigerians.” He lamented.

The Senator who is the Chairman Senate Committee on Finance, said that himself in the legislative arm of the government and the economic team in the executive arm are doing so much to right the many wrongs affecting the economy that has triggered the hardship in the country.

He said that though the present hardship in the country was informed by the inability of past administrations to put on ground democratic foundations that would address the yearnings of Nigerians, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was leaving no stone unturned to bring a lasting solution to the challenges faced by Nigerians.
He said that the so called subsidy which was gulping so much money from the economy of the country was to the benefit of a few Nigerians at the detriment of a greater majority of Nigerians.

“Most often what is been subsidized by the federal government is not in practical terms supplied to Nigerians. They take the subsidy money without providing the subsidized products to Nigerians. This is what Mr. President has stopped and in due time, things will get better for Nigerians.
“The foreign exchange policy was equally abused such that someone can become a billionaire overnight at the expense of larger interest of Nigerians. This is what the President and his team are fighting hard to address.”
Senator Musa said that the President and his amiable wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, encouraged himself and other legislatures to reach out to their constituents through different empowerment programmes that will alleviate their hardship, knowing that Nigerians are facing serious challenge occasioned by the ills in the system.
He said that the though the N50,000 grant to each of the 4,100 constituents of Niger East Senatorial District, may not solve all their problems, but added that it will go a long way to solve some basic needs in their homes.
The Senator said that the committee saddled with the responsibility of selecting the indigent constituents that are beneficiaries of the N50, 000 empowerment grant, used unbiased mechanism to ensure that the money gets to those who are truly in need of the support.
He however commended the constituents for their support to the present leadership of the state and the country, adding that he would sustain his age long empowerment of the people through his scholarship programmes, skill acquisition programmes, women support programmes, attracting infrastructure development programmes like Solar Street Lights, Roads, Boreholes etc and most importantly give them quality representation at the Senate.
The Senator urged his constituents to deploy high sense of decorum in supporting the programmes and activities of the state Governor so as to enable him be focused on his mission to make Niger state regain it’s lost glories through the provision of quality infrastructure and other dividends of democracy.
Senator Musa also commended his wife Hajiya Saadatu Sani Musa, for using her foundation to continually provide basic needs to children below the age of eight.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of the empowerment committee, Hon. Adams Gani, commended the Senator for remembering the indigent members of Niger East Senatorial District in this time of economic hardship and hunger in the land.
Gani said that considering the fact Senator Musa has so much regards for his party the All Progressives Congress (APC), he decided to involve them to oversee the empowerment process.
According to Gani, “We know that we have 109 Senators but if we are to access them, Senator Musa is going to among the first five senators effectively in touch with his constituents and relating with his party that gave him the platform to contest the Senate seat he is currently occupying.”
The Chairman of APC in Tafa Local Government Area of Niger state, Hon. Isiaku Suleman, who poured encomium on Senator Musa, said, “we have never had it so good like we are having under the representation of Senator Sani Musa.
“Senator Musa is a born leader and a team player who carries everybody along. The constituents, the party leaders, the stakeholders and the downtown in the society are feeling the impact of his representation. All we wish him is God’s abundant blessings and protection in his political endeavours.”
Hon. Hasimu Mohammed on his part said that Senator Musa has attracted so much life touching programmes for the people of Niger East Senatorial District like, “solar street lights, drilling of boreholes, scholarship grants to students, skill acquisition programme to youths among others,”
The APC chairman of Suleja Local Government Area, Hon. Idris Binani, said that Senator Musa has again done what he known for, noting, “You have today shown love to indigent constituents of Niger East Senatorial District. We will continue to pray for your success in the Senate.”
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Niger state on Political Matters and Strategy, Hon. Mma Kolo, thanked the Senator for collaborating with Governor Muhammad Umar Bago, in providing leadership for the good people of the state.
Kolo urged the people to remain committed in their support to the leadership of the state and those at the national assembly adding that more dividend of democracy will continue to be provided for the good people of the state.
FirstNews reports that Senator Darlington Nwokeocha, the Managing Director of Ash Biomedical Diagnostics Limited, Ade Shodeinde, State Commissioners and Local Government Chairmen of the Nine LGAs in Niger East Senatorial District were all in attendance at the empowerment programme.
