…Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Governance
In commemoration the breaking of fast and its spiritual significance, the Executive Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Barr. Ugo-Ferdinand Ukwueze, joined the Muslim community to break their fast.
Ukwueze who is also the ALGON deputy chairman in the state, said that his action was in line with his administration’s policy of inclusive governance.


He said that iftar which is the traditional breaking of fast during the holy month of Ramadan, is a deeply significant spiritual observance in the Islamic religion.
Ukwueze emphasised the values of tolerance and harmony, acknowledging the immense contributions of the Muslim community in the development of Igbo-Eze South LGA.
“My brothers and sisters of the Muslim faith, we are here today to celebrate you in the value and belief you have been able to sustain to make our society, our native land, a better place.
“So many things unite us, and the more we journey into life’s process, the more we realise that we are more related than we knew. The humanity in us is so bonding that proper understanding can make us share our lives together,” he stated.
He further recognised and commended the National Mosque Chief Imam, Prof. Illiyasu Usman Onah, for his acts of humanitarianism to the society.
“Prof, we are very grateful to you. Not only because you a religious leader, you are also a fine, refined, industrious, and an enviable product of Igbo-Eze South to the world,” he added.
In his reaction, Prof. Onah expressed appreciation for the Chairman’s visit, describing it as a special and caring gesture.
He commended Mayor Ukwueze for his dedication to interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence while offering prayers for the continued success of his administration.
FirstNews reports that the event, which took place at the Central Mosque, Ibagwa-Aka, brought together Islamic religious leaders, including Prof. Illiyasu Usman Onah, Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja, and a host of Muslim faithful, in an atmosphere of unity and reflection.
